Emmerdale’s Daz walks free

Luke Tittensor

Disgraced Emmerdale star Luke Tittensor landed a nine-month suspended sentence for his brutal attack on a teenager yesterday. The actor, who was recently axed from his role as Daz Eden in the Yorkshire-based soap, was also given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs and compensation.

Luke was sentenced in a hearing at Bolton crown court, where Judge Lindsey Kushner told him he had acted “like a lout”. “This poor boy has suffered a full assault, serious injury, surgery,” she said. “Goodness knows what happened. I don’t know if you were a victim of your own inflated view. Can there be an end to this?”

Luke nodded in response to the judge’s question. He had attacked the unnamed 16-year-old on a night out in Rochdale. According to sources, he was travelling in a car from which missiles were thrown at the victim. When the victim responded verbally, Luke got out of the car and punched and stamped on him.

Daz Eden made his final appearance in Emmerdale on Friday when his half-brother Andy uncovered his affair with adoptive sister Victoria and threw him out of the house. A return looks pretty unlikely.
